Introduction to Fine Woodworking

This two–week introductory course will establish a solid skill base and provide the foundation skills for future fine woodworking.

The course concentrates on developing basic hand skills for accurate setting out and cutting of basic woodworking joints and assembly. This includes learning to sharpen the hand tools required for the project. Students will be taken step–by–step through the safe and efficient set up and operation of the basic woodworking machines – drill press, bandsaw, edge sander and there will also be an introduction to the table router.

Students will have exclusive use of their own cabinet maker’s bench and their own tool kit (with tools only befitting that of a serious woodworker) and will complete a piece of work incorporating the skills learnt during the course.

Course Dates

26th August - 6th September 2024

Course Fee

$2395 including all materials.
