In this class students will spend three days creating a bespoke and beautiful walking stick with a carved handle. This will be a two piece walking can with a plain shaft and a carved head / handle.
This course is for those who have some previous experience in woodcarving and students can either chose a design from one of the tutor’s samples, or could choose a design of their own (being mindful that it will need to align with your skill level). There will be the opportunity to discuss your project with the tutor prior to the start of the course.
Revision of sharpening techniques will be covered.
Students will achieve the following -
Extend the abilities with hand tools
Develop their interpretive skill in three dimensional work
