Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, Cancellations and Refunds

CENTRE FOR FINE WOODWORKING TRUST

TERMS & CONDITIONS

ENROLMENT, CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

The Centre for Fine Woodworking Trust is a not-for-profit organisation offering the highest level of tuition in fine woodworking – the only woodworking school of its kind in New Zealand. We are a registered charity which was granted to us in recognition of our mission to preserve and pass on the time honoured skills of fine woodworking. Our charitable status also recognises that this high level of tuition is no longer available anywhere else in the country.

Before enrolling on a course please read our terms and conditions below regarding the cancellation and refund policy.

We understand that cancellations are often the result of a change of circumstances and we do try to be sympathetic in such situations. However, as a not-for-profit organisation which receives no government funding, we do run on a tight budget and cannot afford to lose places on our courses at short notice.

A deposit of $350 is required to hold your place on the course until the balance of the course fee is due for payment which is always 30 days prior to the start of the course.

Your enrolment will only be confirmed once the payment of your deposit has been received.

All deposits are non-refundable regardless of the reason for withdrawing. As a gesture of goodwill we will endeavour to re-book you into a future course and transfer that deposit within a 6-month period, however this is not always possible.

Full balance of course fees are due 30 days prior to the start of the course. If payment is not made at that time the place may be offered to another student who is on the waiting list.

If you withdraw from a course after full payment of the course fee we will only refund that course fee (less the deposit) if we are able to fill your place at such short notice. Please bear in mind that our courses are often fully booked many months in advance and although we do keep a waiting list it isn’t always possible to fill places at such short notice as our students travel from all over New Zealand as well as from overseas.

There will be no refund should you have to leave part way through a course due to unexpected circumstances.

If for any reason the Centre for Fine Woodworking cancels a course due to extreme circumstances a full refund will be paid to you.

HEALTH & SAFETY

You will be required to complete a confidential student personal details form on the first day of the course. You will be required to disclose any allergies you have and all medication that you take; this is only in the case of an emergency where trained medical staff need this information.

You will be required to complete a Liability Release Form which is an agreement between the Centre for Fine Woodworking and the student to agree to follow all of the school’s health and safety protocols as instructed. Failure to take instructions could result in us asking you to leave the course with immediate effect. No refunds would be given in such circumstances.

Students on short courses are not allowed in the workshop outside of class times and only when the tutor is present. i.e. standard daily class times of 9.00am -4.30pm.

Permission will be required by staff prior to anyone visiting you whilst you are here on a course. If visitors have children with them they must be fully supervised at all times.

No pets / animals are allowed on the premises at any time. Our school is located on a working farm and we can make no exceptions.

Thank you for your co-operation and we look forward to seeing you here in the workshop.
