This 6-day course has been designed for anyone with some basic experience. Follows well from the Woodworking Basics course or the Introduction to Fine Woodworking.
Students will be introduced to different methods of creating mortise and tenon joinery, both hand cut and machine cut. You will learn about their individual strengths and weaknesses and the appropriate use of each technique.
Students will create an elegant small hall or sofa table in American White Oak with a book-matched top fixed to the tapered legs with the traditional method of buttons. The table will be finished with Osmo oil and ready to take home and put it in pride of place.
This popular course was originally taught here by visiting tutor, Roy Schack, from the Brisbane School of Fine Woodworking. The project is such a pleasing design and a great next stage in skill development for a beginner woodworker. We have adapted the project slightly and have added it into our short course programme.
