Nelson is a wonderful holiday destination and so there are a number of lovely places to stay here. These are some of the places that our students have stayed, or places that we know and recommend. Please note: The school parking lot is not available for overnight Freedom Camping. You can park your camper van here during the day, whilst you are on a course at the school. Thank you!

There are a variety of accommodation options at this lovely property which is so close to town yet quiet and surrounded by nature. It’s a 10 minute walk to the centre of Nelson city and a 20 minute drive to the CFW school.

Cable Bay

This holiday park is about 15 minutes past the school, in a beautiful area next to a quiet beach. It’s about a 30 minute drive to town. There are camping sites suitable for tents, campers and caravans. There’s also 3 small cabins that share bathroom and kitchen facilities. Check the website for rates and more info.

In The Glen
This lovely house is in Glenduan, very close to the school. It’s available from end March - Dec 2025. Preference is given to full time students here during that time. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets.

For a small place, Nelson offers a lot. We’re nestled between the Tasman Bay and the Tasman Mountains, and we boast the sunniest place in New Zealand. Nelson is known for it’s love of the arts and nature, with plenty of galleries, a heritage village, bike and hiking trails, lush parks, river and ocean walks, great food, and beautiful beaches. You can walk to the center of New Zealand and visit a wildlife sanctuary all within the Nelson area. And there’s plenty to see and do around the Top of the South Island on the weekends or in your downtime from your course. The sunsets here are pretty great, too.
