Router Table - Techniques


This 2-day beginner course will familiarise students with the router table and introduce a range of techniques and applications to help you to get the most out of this versatile power tool.

If you are thinking of getting a router table, or if you already have one and want to get the most out of it, then this is a great class for you. We will take you through the safe set up and operation, including selecting the right router bit for the job and the use of shop made fences and push sticks. Pattern routing, profiling and joinery are just 3 of the many applications of the router table and this course will give you a solid introduction to them.  

Techniques covered are:-

●      Safe set up and bit changes

●      Rebates

●      Stopped grooves

●      Templates / Pattern routing using copy jigs

●      Use of auxillary fences & baseboards

●      Use of the starter peg

●      Use of hold downs, push sticks and buddy boards
