This 6-day course is for those who have some previous woodworking experience and familiarity with operating a bandsaw, tablesaw, drillpress and are comfortable using handtools.
Elevate your woodworking skills and create a centre piece coffee table for your home. This immersive course guides you through the construction of a beautiful coffee table, while equipping you with fundamental joinery techniques applicable to a wide range of future projects. The course utilises locally sourced Blackwood, harvested in Kaitaia, Northland from an award winning farm recognised for its commitment to environmentally conscious practices.
Techniques covered:-
Lamination - learn to glue up a robust and visually captivating table top that forms the foundation of your coffee table.
Breadboard Ends - master the technique for creating a stable and long-lasting table top that accommodates natural wood movement throughout the seasons
Bridle Joints - introduce both strength and visual contrast between the long and end grain. A very versatile and attractive joinery method.
Wedged Mortise & Tenon - learn to cut slots and glue in wedges for another strong and effective string to your bow.
