Working in the round represents a big mental leap for most wood carvers. This advanced course provides the opportunity for students to develop their in-the-round skills in a supportive environment.

Students will work on completing a project based on an existing art work.

Although it is assumed that students will have basic carving skills, some revision of sharpening techniques will be included.

Students will achieve the following -

  • Extend the abilities with hand tools
  • Develop their interpretive skill in three dimensional work
  • Learn the use of power tools for carving
